Once Shiva told Parvati that he wants to go and play dice with his army of ghosts and demons.
All these beings like Shiva were made of greyish blue non matter so they cannot be spotted by ordinary beings.
They started a game of dice inside their favorite cave away from light and linear time. Soon they were totally engrossed in the game. Parvati was waiting patiently for Shiva to return, many centuries and eons passed by; she watched galaxies and stars forming and destroying but there was no sign of Shiva returning.
Finally she decided to go and find her husband. She changed her form into a demoness made of same grey-blue non-light as Shiva, yet her dazzling light peaked through her form.
She entered the cave where Shiva was too engrossed in the game to notice her, the game caught her fancy soon, enchanted, she joined the Demons in the game, sidelined Shiva observed her form from a corner.
He was shaken out of his game as he realized that it is his wife Parvati disguised as a demoness.
Amused he decided to watch her play, Parvati was soon deep into her game of dice, demons started losing , disenchanted they dissolved one after the other into ether.
When the last demon was left he started to lose, he felt disenchanted too. He peaked over her shoulder and saw Shiva lovingly watching her play . Shiva gestured him to continue so Devi can enjoy her game a little more.
Demon obeyed and started winning to keep himself into the game. After losing several turns, it was Parvati's turn to be disenchanted with the game, bored she turned around asking for Shiva's help.
Shiva touched her forehead to remind her, that very moment Parvati found herself sitting next to Shiva in their abode. As if she has woken up from a dream. She smiled at him and asked him what really happens through this game.
Shiva said "To be in the game one has to be enchanted with the game, when one loses enough he is disenchanted and opts out, when one wins too much the boredom makes the being opt out. As long as game is going in fair measure of winning and losing to keep one's interest, it can carry on endlessly, because inside that cave time has no meaning."
Understanding the secret of the game Parvati turned around and watched millions of people in different
galaxies and planets playing the same game since eternity, she looked at Shiva smiling mischievously.
